Tales From The TARDIS: World's End (The Dalek Invasion of Earth ) Plus 'DALEK SUBMARINE

Hello Dwellers and Welcome To The Basement... we have reached the point I was kind of dreading, that we are about to say good-bye to the first Doctor Who companion, Susan... but before we do that, we have the epic six-part Dalek Invasion Of Earth to go through, and it begins with 'World's End'

QUICK NOTES
  • This was the first Doctor Who story to really go 'outisde' and it makes a world of difference, as many shots that normally would've been close-ups (such as Barbara running to catch up with the guys who took Susan) instead of big wide shots we've gotten.
  • Despite everything, Susan is still treated as a child (with the Doctor saying she should get a spanked bottom for accidently cutting our heroes off from the TARDIS), but at least she admits she is selfish that she is sort of glad that they did not land in the era of London Barbara and Ian are from.
  • There are some great dialog sequences with The Doctor and Ian, and you can see just how far they have come from the rather hostile beginning, there is a mutual respect and friendship between them.
  • This episode does everything perfectly to set everything up for the story, gets our heroes in their perils, introduces key support characters and establishes the threat, The Daleks and the debuting Robomen.

DALEK SUBMARINE

DALEK SUBMARINE LYRICS

In the town where I was born
The TARDIS landed With nothing To See
There was no signs of any life
For everything was blown to smithereens

So we began to explore
But then began to scream
For up from the River Thames
Rose a Dalek Submarine

We all run from the Dalek Submarine
Dalek Submarine, Dalek Submarine
We all run from the Dalek Submarine
Dalek Submarine, Dalek Submarine

As we try to escape quickly
The Dalek fires relentlessly
While Yelling EX-TER-MIN-ATE

We all run from the Dalek Submarine
Dalek Submarine, Dalek Submarine
We all run from the Dalek Submarine
Dalek Submarine, Dalek Submarine

Through luck and some guile,
we succeed in avoiding its laser beams
Making it back to the TARDIS
To escape that damn Dalek

We all run from the Dalek Submarine
Dalek Submarine, Dalek Submarine
We all run from the Dalek Submarine
Dalek Submarine, Dalek Submarine

We all run from the Dalek Submarine
Dalek Submarine, Dalek Submarine
We all run from the Dalek Submarine
Dalek Submarine, Dalek Submarine
