Live From The Basement: Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour (Play and Review)

Hello Dwellers and Welcome to the Basement....

Twenty-Years ago... a game came along that made no apologies for what it was... that injected more personality into the video game industry than any plumber with a silly accent... that was more bad-ass than any hedgehog... I'm talking about Duke Nukem 3D.

This was the third game in the series, but was quite a departure as the first two were side-scrollers.. this was a first person shooter, and while Doom was fun and Quake was innovative... Duke Nukem 3D was just awesome. Perfect layout on the controls, levels that you find your way through just by keeping track of where you've been, various enemies, and a balls out personality (thanks in part to the voice work of Jon St. John as Duke Nukem).

Now as for the latest version of the game goes, it's been fully overhauled in how it looks, a major upgrade to give everything more , and it has some new levels (that I haven't played yet, went and played the first episode first, cause why not), but it's basically the same game it's been for 20 years. Hell, I still remember the two cheat codes for 'god mode' that I freely admit that I use, DNKROZ  and DNCORNHOLIO (and if you're a STEAM player, you do get an achievement if you use 'em). I play every level basically the same way, hell just watch the game play video, and you'll see me comment on how I can never find the Red Key in one level, but still get through it.

It's nostalgic, but unlike a lot of games from 20 years ago (or even 10 years ago), it still holds up.
