The Curse of Monkey Island

Last year one of the most loved franchises I played was the Monkey Island series with Secret of Monkey Island, LeChuck's Revenge and Tales of Monkey Island being the only ones available... and last week The Curse of Monkey Island finally made it to Steam and GOG, which meant I got to play it for the first time ever... and it is as straight forward as most LucasArts games, but man I love the art style with it looking kind of like Dragon Quest with the more hand drawn look, and some pretty awesome cut scenes. I really enjoyed it... except for the ship combat system that was unnecessary lol

Anyway here are some highlights from tonight

The Devil Lady: Flames

It’s March 30, 2018 and to wrap the third month of the year I’m going over episode 10 of The Devil Lady, which is titled Flames and first aired December 13, 1998.

Up to this point in the series, the beasts that Jun has been dealing with have all been adults, whose transformations are driven by their base desires, for example the peeping-tom perv who because an eye monster, the supermodel who shadowed Jun’s every moment basically became a cat monster, or Jun’s friend who was a swimmer becoming a shark type monster.

But in this episode, that is not the case… in fact this episode is very tragic.

The story is an apartment complex was basically turned into an inferno with many casualties, and one of the few survivors found after the blaze was put out, is a 4 year old girl. She has burns over 70% of her body and there is no way she could’ve survived the fire unless she was a beast… and this is proven because the HA’s science division has been working on ways to determine who has the beast gene in case it was an infection. Now in this episode, we get the kid’s backstory… she was told by an old dude who was tending a fire that captivated her that ‘everyone has a fire inside of them’… and in the case of the kid, she could pretty much create fire… and sadly she roasted her mother and her home. Now Asuka is put in a tough spot because Jun doesn’t think a kid should be killed beast or not, plus Asuka’s own superiors want to monitor the kid to see what else they could learn… which leads to her setting the facility she’s in on fire… and after roasting some fire fighters, Jun has to go in. Now during the big confrontation, we see Jun in both human and Devil lady form try to reach out to the kid, but it isn’t until when the kid lighting Jun on fire and being reminded of her mother that the kid cries out for her mom, hugs Jun and basically disintegrates… sending Jun into tears.

Of course there is a B-plot, with Kazumi getting a tape from the private investigator of the incident with the sports caster plus her being increasingly disturbed by Jun’s disappearing act … but since Kazumi sucks as a character, it’s not really interesting.

Beginning to end, the main plot is very well done, bringing up some moral issues about Asuka and the HA’s goals about dealing with the beasts and showing it’s not just adults, but kids who could be a huge danger themselves. Normally I would go into what I thought of the Beast design… but considering the plot, it’s not totally relevant.

Now coming up, Monday I’ll begin my look at Doctor Who: The Power of the Daleks, the first Doctor Who story to feature Patrick Troughton as the Doctor… and next Friday I’ll be reviewing episode 11 of The Devil Lady

Thirsty Thursday with Star Trek Online and Angry Birds Star Wars

So huge news with Star Trek Online, the next content expansion comes out in June with Victory is Life... and they are bringing in the actors who played Quark, Kira and Odo from Deep Space Nine to reprise their roles which is FUCKING AWESOME!

Now on tonight's stream things did open up with Star Trek Online with mayhem on Kobali prime and then it was off to Star Wars: Angry Birds... yes you read that right, and I think the best thing in it was a line about 'Join the Pork Side' which just made me chuckle.

Anyway here are clips for the night

Werid Wednesday... all over the pace!

Ah my Wednesday night broadcast... opened up with Dead Space as I played Chapter 3 with only two deaths on note involving a fuselage smacking me in the face, then I loaded up Sea of Thieves and I can easily tell that's gonna be a game I need to play with DTS members cause it's just a lot to coordinate, then it was off to Paladins for a bit as I played the new Assault on something peak map and also did 4 of my 10 Season 2 qualifiers and finally wrapped up the night with PUBG with CmdrDean, LadyOcean32 and FNDanteSavage to end the night on a good note.

Roseanne, Batman and Overwatch

So tonight Roseanne return to TV with two solid episodes that saw every starring actor of the original run return, and not a single beat was missed in my opinion, with plenty of issue tackled. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the season! After hanging with the Conners, it was off to twitch to play Batman: The Enemy Within Chapter 5, and it was a solid conclusion and since I was trying to be committed to John / Joker as a friend it lead to some tough choices including not getting Catwoman away from Waller. Then it was off to Overwatch playing with Blue-electron and his buddy Captain K9, and we had some flubs but got a couple of big wins. Of course there are highlights below.

Monday BlazBlues and Street Fighter Tekken Mayhem!

Ah another Monday and more BlazBlue things as I completed the Arcade Campaigns for Valkenhayn and Mai... and I'm surprised Mai's arcade ending gives a lot of information on the military academy Jin, Noel and others went too... then it was off to Street Fighter X Tekken to play as the odd couple of Ibuki and Rolento... wonder if Rolento will learn Ibuki has a name and not a rank!

Sunday Night Lunacy: Star Wars, Smite and Overwatch!

So for my Sunday night broadcast this week it started with Star Wars Battlefront II... and yes I'm still not a fan of the space combat even though it seemed like I got better with it. I did like that I got to play as Luke, Leia and Han... even though the guy who does Han's voice sounds nothing like Harrison Ford. Afterward clearing mission seven it was over to Smite to do my weekly quests playing three games as an Egyptian and two games as a Guardiann. Only one match was one but hey all is well. And finally the night ended with Overwatch getting a Play of the Game and a couple of victories, including the Double Cap achievement. Of course highlights are below!

Dare To Stream On A Saturday Night

So prior to my stream on Saturday Evening, I was interviewed by Cammi_316 since I am the Dare to Stream streamer of the Month for March 2018, and we had a hell of a fun chat, then things came over to my channel for some Smite on the PC (much to the shock of some of Cammi's viewers), then played some PUBG... and the power went out... and finally wrapped up with some Paladins. Of course there are some highlights from the night.

The Devil Lady Episode 9: Eyes

It’s Friday March 23, 2018…. and nearly all the snow that came down a couple of days ago has melted… the weekend is finally here once again, and we kick it off like I always do, talking a little Anime.

This week I’m going over episode nine of Go Nagi’s The Devil Lady which first aired December 6, 1998.

In the fallout of episode eight, Jun is sulking about Asuka and Dr Bates being disappointed in her performance against the Newscaster Beach, and on top of that, Jun feels like she is being watched. Throughout the episode there are instances of her sensing a presence is watching her, and she gets super tense to the point it causes others to be concerned for her… Now Yuasa, Jun’s agent thinks its because she is starting to feel the pressure of being a very successful supermodel, with being on magazine covers all over the place… and people at the HA thinks she’s got a phobia about being watched related to her being a Devil Lady and worrying about people finding out… which is stupid consider one thing that Asuka has said REPEATEDLY that Jun could sense the presence of other beasts…. Now sure part of Jun’s issues is fear about being discovered, that’s fine… but to not even consider their being a beast making maters worse and damn near causing Jun to flip out is just silly.

The beast in question is basically a very weird multi-eyed creature whose human form was clearly that of a perverted / psychotic guard at an amusement park who looks for the perfect eyes… and during the episode we see it go after a woman and gouge her eyes out… apparently the EIGHTH VICTIM… and its only when Asuka is on the crime scene does she put two and two together to do something about it. In fact it’s Asuka and her HA minions who deal with the beast by roasting it with flame throwers because looking at it turns out to be the beast’s greatest weakness… so yeah for all the issues it causes Jun, the beast of the week is a total pushover.

That said, there was some great moments namely when Jun finally tells Kazumi off, when feeling like she’s being watched in the shower, she hears the bathroom door closed and Jun stops what she’s doing gotes to Kazumi and says exactly what I’ve been saying that Kazumi forced her way into her home and took over while calling her a peeper before realizing everything was related to a beast…. And this led to a really cool moment of Jun bolting out of her apartment in her bathrobe, running up to the roof, ditching her robe and transforming in one smooth motion… now sure all the eyes of the beast paralyze her with fear leading to Asuka being the one to deal with it, but for Jun it’s a cool moment of wanting to confront the issue head on.

Overall solid episode from start to finish, Jun feeling uncomfortable and unnerved was really sold well with the artwork… oh there was a sub-plot element of the Detective looking dude approaching Kazumi and telling her to re-think her friendship with Jun, but that was just another step into the process of Kazumi learning Jun’s secret… but Kazumi sucks so I could care less about that.

Next week episode 10 of the Devil Lady and on Monday: Doctor Who The Tenth Planet!

Trekkin' and Overwatchin'

For my Thursday Night Stream it was Star Trek Online, and I noticed they finally removed all the Delta Side Missions from the Story Arc so it's all optional things as they should have always been... so things flow from one big mission to the next, which is awesome! After that went over to Overwatch to finish my Qualifying matches for Competitive Matches... and yeah

Snowed In On A Wednesday

So after another snow storm tearing through South Jersey I started my broadcast a lot earlier than normal... and yes I finally played Dead Space, playing Chapters 1 and 2... and yeah this game is certainly not one I would want to play multiple times a week because it's just too intense for me even on easy mode... I only died once but still. Regardless I will give it a solid try and apply the same rules I had with Final Fantasy VII... I will play it to where my lack of gaming skills prevents me from going any further.

After that it was off to Smite and Paladins, where there was mixed results as per the norm when playing with PUGs... then Street Figher X Tekken where I completed the Poison / Hugo campaign and then went head to head for a few rounds with fellow Dare to Stream member Iron_Werewolf who was kind enough not to totally murk me... then wrapped things up going through Relius Clover's arcade campaign and I think I understand his motives a bit to basically destroy the Master Unit and create his own world of chaos. At least that's the gist of what I understand.

Anyway where are tonight's highlights

Still tonight's broadcast as a lot of fun with WWE 2K18, Them's Fighting Herds, BlazBlue Central Fiction and Overwatch being tonight's games. BlazBlue Central Fiction: Ragna and Noel clips

For my March 19, 2018 Twitch broadcast I played BlazBlue Central Fiction and polished of the arcade campaigns for Ragna and Noel (six trips through arcade mode three times each)... and they are both the enemy of the world.... which is just weird but in a way it makes sense, but only because I refuse to think to hard about it. Anyway here are tonight's clips

An Open Letter To @SEGA About It's Re-Releasing Genesis Games... Again

To whom it concerns,
In the near future Sega is releasing the Sega Genesis Collection for the PS4, XBox One, and other platforms... which to be honest is just another re-release of prior collections of games developed under Sega's umbrella for a small period of time of the company's illustrious history. Now I fully understand the nostalgia market is a huge source of revenue... but as a consumer, I'm not seeing the logic upon seeing Sonic The Hedgehog 91, Comix Zone, Ristar being included in a game bundle that I basically already bought with the Sega Mega Drive & Genesis Classics several years ago.
And what makes this even more frustrating as a consumer is that Sega has never re-released any of its in-house games to actually take advantage of the nostalgia market. SNK has released several of it's arcade games on modern platforms in recent years... Sega has never done that. Square-Enix has been releasing many games from it's history over the past few years such as Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 3 thru 9... and yet Sega is sitting on games from the 32X, Saturn and Dreamcast era.
Now I'm sure your reply to this is that 'Sega is developing / publishing new games', which is fine, but the fact that I'm trying to stress here is that Sega is beating the Genesis / Mega Drive era of its history like a dead horse and it's way-past time your company starting taking advantage of more parts of its history.
Anyway I'll wrap this up here... I look forward to the generic corporate reply that is often associated with these 'support' email accounts.
Thank you

Doctor Who: The Smugglers Part 4

It’ the last day of Winter…. March 19, 2018… and in case you don’t know, March 20th is considered to be the first day of Spring so I can get away with saying that… anyway, it’s a Monday which means time for my weekly Classic Doctor Who Review with part four of The Smugglers.

The Fourth Chapter of the story first aired October 1, 1966 and had a viewership total of 4.5 million viewers, which was a small up tick of 300,000 from part three… the episode opens as Cherub attacks the Squire and kills Cooper, with the Squire being wounded severely. He then grabs Polly and holds her at gun point unless the Doctor gives him the riddle he was told by the Churchwarden in part 1. The Doctor being the Doctor, stalls for time and we learn that the names mentioned in the riddle were apart Avery’s crew while the Squire manages to mention something about Captain Avery’s Curse… again making me wonder if this is the same Captain Avery seen in the Matt Smith Era of Doctor Who.
Pike and his men hit land and head for the church, raiding the Smuggler’s little storage area before going on to the church alone, and yes the men he leaves behind start getting a little rowdy. When Pike finds Cherub he actually questions him about deserting the ship and Cherub raises his gun towards Pike, who disarms him and they begin to have a sword fight, which allows The Doctor to send Ben and Polly off to wait for Blake to arrive who at this point is already on his way back with his forces. Cherub is killed and the Doctor strikes a deal with Pike to give him the treasure as long as the village … which might be easier said than done considering they are pirates and pillaging is what they do. Pike agrees and the Doctor leads him to the treasure just as gun shots are heard as Blake has arrived and overpowered Pike’s men and chaos erupts, as Blake’s Men and Pike’s Crew brawl all over the damn place.

This leads Pike to think The Doctor lead him into a trap and threatens to kill him as help arrives, Pike is killed thanks to the Squire causing a distraction allowing Blake to shoot him, and our heroes head off to the TARDIS where they land in the coldest place in the world… setting up the next story in the saga.

This episode is a solid ending chapter, with Pike’s crew soundly defeated by Blake’s men, the Squire getting some redemption as the kindness and honesty of the Doctor made him feel ashamed of his own behavior. If there was something I didn’t like it was after Ben and Polly escaped from the crypt, Polly gets hurt and makes her way towards the TARDIS alone while Ben goes back for the Doctor which leads to Polly being attacked to be rescued by Blake and his men, arriving in the nick of time. I think logically Ben getting her to the TARDIS first and being there with her to fend off the attackers would’ve been better. Also according to the captions on the Loose Cannon Reconstruction of this episode… apparently Blake was thrown off of his horse… and this leads to another minor issue, it takes Blake quite a while to make it to where he can gather his forces, but he makes it back in time to save the day.

Anyway that will do it for this week’s review, next week we prepare to say good bye to the first Doctor with part 1 of the four part story… The Tenth Planet!

Ah on my March 16, 2018 twitch broadcast I finished up the main story of Borderlands 2... defeating Handsom Jack and the Warrior... with a lot of help from Mitenscirca who saw the trouble I was having in the march towards Jack in the final stages of the game, and she arrived kicked ass took names... and then we went on to do the 'You're Going To Die (Seriously)' mission... which was a problem cause it scaled to her level of 52... and I was level 33... but thankfully Pandasweet arrived to help us knock that out.

Afterward, we switched over to Overwatch, and along with Panda, I was joined by Oldish and BlueElection for a wild batch Quick Matches that saw me get a couple plays of the game, Oldish and Blue both got some POTGs as well. Anyway Highlights are down below! Enjoy!

The Devil Lady: Enemy

It’s Friday March 16, 2018… and you talk about your psalms, talk about your John 3:16… well Freddy 3:16 says it’s time to review another episode of The Devil Lady with episode 8, ‘Enemy’ which first aired November 29, 1998.

The episode opens with part of a video being show, showing a guy wanting to reveal the beast transformation to the world and we learn that it was sent to all the news stations, but the HA managed to keep things quite, but want to investigate things thoroughly to find out who it was that sent the tape that could lead to humans wondering if they have the beast-dna code, maybe seek out others of their kind, form support groups and probably cause the end of civilization as we know it.

Now with Jun in this episode…. She wonders why does she have to wake Kazumi up for her first day back to school, after all Kazumi forced herself into living with Jun… and while trying to get her hair done, she gets called in, sees the tape and meets Dr. Jason Bates who has been working on the beast research at Samuelson laps. He has come to Japan to witness Jun in action, and expresses some interesting theories that humanity must evolve but doesn’t think it should lose their humanity… that sounds totally redundant but you try coming up with another word for it.

Anyway, the beast of the week is discovered to be a sports broadcaster who wants to broadcast his transformation live on the air, thankfully the news station manager puts the kibosh on that. The beast itself is has two tyrannosaurus like heads and a similar tail, plus a human face on it’s torso. It’s big and powerful and through the magic of plot convenience manages to trap Jun underneath a lighting rig that somehow she can’t lift off of herself.

The reason for this is so that Dr. Bates can save the day, revealing himself to be a Devil Man like Jun, he has his humanity and can throw down with beasts just like her… makes me wonder as to why if the HA has Dr. Bates on the payroll why did they really need Jun? I bet it has to do with the giga-effect, because it’s pointed out in the episode as part of Dr. Bates’s reason to coming since it transforms beasts in Godzilla like monsters. Now the fact that he saves Jun is consider to be disappointing and Asuka chews Jun out over not handling the sportscaster beast.

Overall: I think this was an interesting episode in introducing the Jason Bates character as it focuses on the issue of Jun being caught between fighting for humanity while being a Devil Lady, though I didn’t like how Jun had to look weak to show that Bates was stronger than her, considering I’ve seen how Jun can take a pounding. The issue of Jun ‘failing’ and disappointing Asuka is straight out of left field, as Jun just had a rough time with a beast in the previous episode, so Asuka should no that Jun isn’t flawless but gets the job done.

Anyway that will do it for this week’s review, next week I’ll go over episode 9, and on Monday (thanks to a screw up on my part) I’ll be reviewing part 4 of Doctor Who: The Smugglers.

Thursday Night Trek and Overwatch, WWE Does The Right Thing

On tonight's twitch broadcast, I lead off with Star Trek Online with a couple of big missions with my 'Admiral Casden' character to wrap up 2409 and to begin 2410 with Mindscape. Then I broke out Zagreus to do some STFs for a bit... and yeah the long queue times sour me... which lead me to switch over to Overwatch for a lot of fun with D.Va in Mayhem, including a Play Of The Game.

Highlights of course will be below

So with all the righteous outrage over the WWE Honoring The Not So Fabulous Moolah, the WWE did the right thing and renamed the battle royal... sure it was because Snickers got involved in saying 'hey we don't want our brand associated with that particular woman considering her Trump Like Behavior, and as a wrestling fan I'm happy the right thing was done.

Wednesday In The Basement Highlights, plus thoughts on recent iZombie and Flash episodes

Quick thoughts on this week's iZombie, and I'm not too keen on Liv being on the Hopeless Romantic brain, it's just a little blah for me... and on this week's episode of the Flash... the gimmick of Iris getting Speedster powers was beyond stupid, and it was just a forgettable episode.

Kid Rock Is The Wrong Celebrity For The WWE Hall Of Fame, Plus Twitch Recap!

Soooo if you saw on Twitter... I was less than thrilled with Kid Rock going into the WWE Hall of Fame... because lets face it, the guy was one of two huge reasons why the Women's Battle Royal at WrestleMania 25 was a fucking travesty, the other being Santino Marella... but Cyndi Lauper should be the one going into the Hall of Fame! She was the one who basically made the WWF mainstream back in 1984 and carried the company with her star power all the way through to WrestleMania. Remember kids, Mr. T didn't come into the WWF for his little bit with Hogan until AFTER Lauper. So yeah... Fuck Kid Rock.

And staying on the WWE... the WWE continuing to honor a piece of shit like the Fabulous Moolah is beyond asinine... and all you have to do is look at what I wrote last year about this... http://www.fredcasdensbasement.com/2017/05/the-fabulous-moolah-total-scumbag.html

I really liked tonight's episode of DC's Legends of Tomorrow with how it focused on Elvis and putting a whole spin on Rock N Roll is the Devil's Music deal, it was really an enjoyable episode from start to finish. Didn't see tonight's iZombie will watch that tomorrow before The Flash.

That said on tonight's stream I hit Borderlands 2 and did some missions in the pain in the ass to navigate Sawtooth Cauldron... that place is a nightmare to navigate. Then I did Kagura's Arcade Campaign in BlazBlue Central Fiction, I really think Izayami was flirting with him  at the end of the 2nd chapter. Then it was a rough spot in Paladins going 1 and 2, one of the loses thanks to no support and flanking from my teammates to keep me as the tank from being ganged up on.

Anyway here are tonight's highlights!

Smite and PUBG: PAN-DEMIC IN THE FASTLANE

So last night was WWE Fastlane.. and really outside of Orton winning the United States Title, the only other thing of note was Asuka making it clear she is facing Charlotte at WrestleMania for the Women's Championship.... which means Asuka wins and Carmella cashes in, ending Asuka's win streak.

On my stream tonight I played a ton of Smite, even got in some matches with fellow Dare to Stream member NFG_Kaii, then after a while it was off to PUBG for some fun with LadyOcean32, CmdrDean and FlickFLK including some awesome moments laugh out loud moments

Playst List and Saturday Night Shenanigans 3/10/18

First here is tonight's playlist of music:

  1. Brian Setzer - Back Streets Of Tokyo (04:46)
  2. Joe Perry - We've Got A Long Way To Go (04:34)
  3. Rod Piazza - Little Bitty Pretty One - Rockin' Robin (02:25)
  4. The Commitments - Mustang Sally (04:01)
  5. The Allman Brothers Band - Statesboro Blues (04:20)
  6. The Righteous Brothers - My Babe (Single Version) (02:40)
  7. Vince Neil - Tattoos & Tequila (03:43)
  8. Leonard Nimoy - The Ballad Of Bilbo Baggins (02:21)
  9. The Rolling Stones - Just Your Fool (02:16)
  10. Baltimora - Tarzan Boy (06:14)
  11. U2 - I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For (04:37)
  12. Will Smith - Gettin' Jiggy Wit It (03:46)
  13. Cyndi Lauper - Girls Just Want to Have Fun (03:53)
  14. Nena - 99 Luftballons (03:50)
Now during the stream tonight, I didn't know what I was going to do, so I just loaded up Smite at first and got into string of 'Match of the Day' matches which saw me using gods I've never used. It was fun and chaotic that resulted in a few wins but many losses. The funny thing is I had a quest regarding getting player damage and none of the damage I dealt during those matches counted. Really strange.

Then it was off to Paladins for a few Onslaught and Death Matches....primarily used Ash cause well I'm an Ash main lol

And finally the main event, WWE 2K18, which I got this past week thanks to the Steam 2K sale, and while it's gorgeous... I do question the control responses at times. I played two eight-man elimination matches and it seems that match type is the one that causes some lag, but the Royal Rumble was pretty smooth which is amazing cause both have 8 wrestlers on screen at a time. Weird.

Anyway here are tonight's highlights

Borderslands 2 & Overwatch 3/9/18

What a fun Friday night broadcast.... with some advancment in Borderlands 2 (finished up the first part of Where Angels Fear To Tread mission) and saw Handsom Jack make a big hole in Roland's chest... which raises a question, exactly why is Roland portrayed as the apparent 'main character 'of the first Borderlands game? He's sooooo bland.

Afterward, went over to Overwatch for a lot of fun with Blueelectron joining in for a number of games. Got a lot of wins tonight and two top plays!

Then in a bit of bonus fun, played some PUBG with FNDanteSavage and members of the Savage crew... and I forgot to get highlights of that. Ah well. Still it was a lot of fun

Here are the Top Plays and Highlights of the Night

The Devil Lady: Fog

It’s Friday March 9, 2018, and I hope you all had a great week, if not, then hey the weekend is here! YAY!

And we’re kicking off the weekend the way we always do, talking a little anime, and this week’s subject is The Devil Lady, episode 7, ‘Fog’ which aired November 22, 1998

The episode actually opens quite differently than the first six, as we actually got a recap of Jun rudely learning of her more Devilish half, with a question about her having doubts of whose to say that the humans are right and the beasts are evil… considering episode six with Kurosaki (aka the Shark beast), that’s a valid question.

Anyway, episode 7 is very different in other ways as when the episode gets officially started, it’s a dark and foggy night… and a cab driver nearly runs down a naked Jun who is wounded after losing to a beast… yes Jun actually lost to a beast… and we get to see how that occurred, and it’s more of the beast getting lucky after Jun ripped one of its arms off, She’s taken to a local clinic where an irate Asuka finds her and oddly enough it seems some time has past between episodes six and seven as Jun is a lot more confident when telling Asuka to chill out with the attitude over her failing as it’s basically Jun taking all the risks…. But there seems to be some respect from Asuka towards Jun throughout this episode as well as she continues to show some concern and seemed very interested when Jun recounted a story from her youth about when her Grandfather told her about the ‘Grim Reaper’, which was the Reaper would come out on a foggy night to collect souls… so it relates fairly well to the fact this episode is titled fog.
The B-Plot of the sees Jun’s agent Yuasa having a drink in a bar and a conversation with a dude who rightly points out there are monsters in the city but people don’t notice because of a cover up…. Yuasa doesn’t quite believe it… at least not until Jun is battling the beast with both in full-giga-mode aka Godzilla sized monsters. Because of all the fog, the spot lights used by the Human Alliance to keep track of everything causes the shadows of Jun and the Beast to show on the clouds… and Yuasa, Kazumi and who knows how many others see the very large monstrous silhouettes. I thought that was pretty cool to kind of open the door for Jun’s associates to eventually learn the truth.

The beast in the episode is pretty forgetful… it has scythe blades on its arms, clearly has speed and its quite durable and can go giant size… but it’s the fact that to Jun it vaguely looks like a stereotypical version of the Grim Reaper late in the episode gives the beast any real purpose. It’s limited back story was that it was father but killed his wife and child… nothing really compelling.

Overall I thought this was a fine episode with the working relationship between Asuka and Jun seemingly perfectly cemented in what it’s going to be going forward, Yuasa seeing the giant shadows in the fog and learning more of Jun’s past with the Grim Reaper story were all the strong points. The beast as I said was really forgettable and was just a monster of the week.

Anyway, that would wrap this up, coming up in the Basement, tonight on Twitch I’ll be opening with Borderlands 2, and on Monday I’ll be reviewing part two of Doctor Who: The Smugglers. And on that lack of a bombshell, be kind please subscribe and I’ll see you next time.

Thoughts on this week's Flash, plus Borderlands 2, BlazBlue & Paladins!

So this week's episode with The Flash...  what a mess... with Flash once again being a dick to his teammates namely Cisco at the start over his obsession with Devoe and wanting to just toss a bomb into the Speed Force... which he would've done if it wasn't for Jay Garrick... the only saving grace for this episode was Wells and Jesse Quick father daughter moment towards the end of the episode.

On my twitch broadcast tonight, the night started off with Borderlsands 2 as I basically tackled everything there is to do in the town of Lynchwood including taking out both the Sheriff and the Deputy... and also helped a Skag recover and get a new home.

Then it was off to BlazBlue Central Fiction as I knocked out the Arcade Campaign for Celica A. Mercury... who is the sister of Nine The Phantom... well that was unexpected...

And last but not least, it was back to the realm for some Paladins, nothing major but the update or as I like to call it 'regression' back pre cards unbound is just idiotic after nearly three months of work in getting characters properly equipped to handle anything.

Anyway here are tonight's highlights... and tomorrow night I'll be playing Star Trek Online
