No Matter What I Do I Will Always Being A Disappointment To My Father |...

Lets get personal....

I know someone wished I ended up six-feet under at Arlington National Cemetery so that they could've had bragging rights at certain local establishments... cause they actually said that to me at freaking baseball game.

So obviously no matter what I do, no matter how hard I try, because they didn't get that wish that was so very important to them so they could be legitimize in the eyes of others I was going to be a disappointment to them... because their perfect scenarios always end up coming short.

I didn't die 'fighting in the war or terror', they are disappointed, I get a decent job and hold onto it for a long period of time, they are disappointed, I deal with a situation that is constantly degrading, they are disappointed. I fight tooth and nail for every little thing I do.... they are disappointed.

Hell they happiest they sounded was when I was in the hospital late last year... which makes me wonder if they were hoping I'd die.... because then they would have the 'tragic story' they always wanted to tell people.

Thoughts On The Episode: Man... talk about a lot of ground being covered, we see how Chloe got her knit hat and pick up truck, her getting kicked out of Blackwell, and probably the most obvious set up for her being obsessed with Rachel in the Original Life Is Strange series. Also Rachel's dad is a total tool.

Toast The Bread: It Makes Everything Better

It's Thursday, October 19, 2017...

After my second night of streaming Borderlands, and running into one hell of a strong boss, I was in the mood for a little snack... and of course I could easily go for a bowl of cereal or some crackers... but you can't go wrong with a sandwich with the bread toasted. Doesn't matter what kind of sandwich, BLT, Ham & Cheese, PB&J, Peanut Butter & Banana... if you toast the bread it just makes everything better, plus in the case of using peanut butter, it makes spreading it so much easier, cause the warmth of the bread loosens it up some.

Of course that's just my opinion.

The Flash: Mixed Signals / DC's Legends of Tomorrow: Freakshow

It's Wednesday October 18, 2017... and here are my quick thoughts on this week's episode of The Flash & DC's Legends of Tomorrow

THE FLASH: Mixed Signals

A pretty mundane episode that saw a bit of forward movement on the big bad who seems to be looking for some Metas, but what really dragged this episode down was the 'relationship' issues with Barry & Iris and also Cisco & Gypsy... all revolving around 'listening to your romantic interest'... if this was Valentine's Day week I could understand that, but's it only the 2nd episode of the season!

DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW: Freakshow

This was such a great episode, even with Vixen's return... setting it around P.T. Barnham's circus set things up nicely for a total 'freak show' element. There was plenty of action and a lot of comedy (loved Stein working in some clown skills towards the episode's climax). The Legends also become aware that there is something big on the horizon and I loved them laughing at the though that Rip's Time Bureau is scared.

Supergirl: Triggers

It's Monday, October 16, 2017...  and here are some quick thoughts on this week's episode of Supergirl, which was titled 'Triggers', which follows up heavily on Lena taking over Cat Co, and Jimmy Olsen is out of the loop on a few things as Lena seems eager to learn the ins and outs of her new company, more drama with Maggie & Alex in their wedding planning and a new villain in town with mental abilities to get what she wants, which is a nice gimmick as she gets in her victims head including Kara's, so it ends up being a 'Supergirl has to overcome this power' type challenge, mainly exposing Kara being claustrophobic and when she got launched to Earth from Krypton, but instead its her feeling guilt over Mon-El possibly being dead. The villain, named 'Psy' (clever) is pretty wicked and tf there is one thing this episode is doing based on last week is that it appears that Supergirl is going to be facing a lot of mental adversity this season. Now the character of Psy, I think debuted back in 1982 in issue #1 of The Daring New Advnetures of Supergirl as a reoccurring nemesis.

There is a subplot with a single mother who managed to show some incredible strength in last week's episode and her daughter who punched someone out at school. I really wonder where this is going. Because if I remember right, the end of previous season saw something or someone else launched from Krypton. The mother snapping on her daughter (Ruby) over admitting she has powers or not was really touching and the girl running away because she doesn't want to be considered a liar was spot on. Where these crossed over with the main plot is that Ruby happened to be where Psy was attacking and text her mother to come get her. This little plan nearly works when a wrecking ball comes down on them but Supergirl arrives in time.

The big thing is at the end of the episode we learn the mom's name is Samantha Arias and according to various wiki's she is really 'Reign' a Kryptonian bio-weapon called a Worldkiller who debuted in 2012 in DC Comics. So yeah, this is gonna be really interesting.

Gotham & Arrow: The Demons's Head & Fallout

It's Thursday October 12, 2017... and here are my thoughts on this week's episodes of Gotham & Arrow

GOTHAM: The Demon's Head
This episode focused around the knife Bruce got at the auction, with Ra's Al Guhl tracking it down relentlessly going after it, and everything surrounding that seemed a little rush, and the character comes across a bit too desperate for my liking, but he did come across as creepy cool bastard when he killed Alex towards the end of the episode. His minions were pretty cool, particularly the Golem looking dude who I was half expecting to say 'My Precious' at some point. Sophia Falcone's interactions with the Penguin was interesting as it seems like she is trying to figure out how she is going to deal with him and how she disapproved of his methods seems like its going be an all out war between the Falcones and Penguin. What really came off bad was Penguin and Riddler's interactions as it just comes across too hokey but we got to see Mister Freeze again. Overall a decent episode in my opinion.

ARROW: Fallout
Let me say something funny, a guy at work said that Smallville's Superman was going to be the one to save everyone, and I know Tom Welling said he was open for a cameo appearance on Flash...
so with that said I was very keen to see how things feel out following the Island explosion last season.Confirmed alive was Oliver, William Dig, Wild Dog, Mr. Terrific, Dinah, Quinton Lance... and Black Siren (Evil Laurel) who blows up the STPD... with the only confirmed casualty being William's Mom at first... until Slade is confirmed to have survived who found Theaseemingly  died on the island but she's in a coma and Slade is hanging around town. We get Oliver trying to deal with raising William, Quinton coping with having shot Black Siren, Diggle apparently now dealing with PTSD or being unable to aim anymore... and a killer cliff hanger Oliver's identity of being the Green Arrow being exposed.  A really damn good season opener on all fronts

Bear With Me Episode 3 Highlights and Blurb

Here are highlights from my October 10, 2017 broadcast of Bear With Me Episode 3

Get The Bear With Me Game Bundle: http://amzn.to/2yfV0jd

So I finally played Bear With Me Episode 3 to officially finish the game having streamed episodes 1 and 2 earlier in the year... and man oh man... was this episode a real kick in the crotch. Without giving any spoilers, this was the second game I played this year where I actually cried (the other being Minecraft Story Mode Season 1). The puzzles are pretty straight forward but I did run into a glitch part way through where I actually had to restart the game from the beginning. Still I highly recommend playing the game, all three episodes, it's really awesome.

Quake Champions, The Flash & DC's Legends of Tomorrow

It's Tuesday, October 10, 2017... and here is a blurb of thoughts regarding a video game and two of my shows.

QUAKE CHAMPIONS

As part of the November Monthly Bundle over at Humble Bundle was Quake Champions, and while it's clear it will push my current PC to its limits even on its lowest setting, I wanted to try it... and sadly, I couldn't really do much because of the most ass-backwards tutorial imaginable. A tutorial should give you the basics of how to play so a player wouldn't be loss... but instead it forces players to do a time trial with color coded targets that is much more frustrating than any thing I've played all year.

That said, the game looks good and the controls are easy enough, but the tutorial in its current form needs to go before I can really dive into this.

Still... I say if you want a good Quake game, get Quake II

THE FLASH: The Flash Reborn (S4,Ep1)

The season four premier of the Scarlet Speedster sees Iris being an uber bitch similar to Kara on this week's Supergirl, and Barry being pulled out of the Speed Force thanks to a 6 month long plan by Cisco because a Samuroid (Samurai / Android) wants to face the Flash or destroy the city. Barry being all out of sorts speaking gibberish is well handled, and with Iris basically putting herself in danger to get him to 'come out of it' was predictable... and we got a nice teaser on the big bad for the season

DC's LEGENDS OF TOMORROW: Aruvu Con (S3,Ep1)

The best of of the DCW shows is back with Rip being a dick because the Legends broke history... and the Legends ending up in silly jobs (out of Rory who is in Aruba) until Julius Caesar shows up. This episode is all about Sara and company proving themselves and wanting get back to traveling through time and setting things right, only for Caesar to get a a hold of future knowledge to conquer all of the world. Rip showing up and his 'professionals' make things worst with the Legends stepping up and kicking all sorts of Roman ass! I love this show!

Supergirl & Valor

It's Tuesday October 10, 2017...

Last night prior to streaming Bendy & The Ink Machine Chapter 3 (highlights which can be found here) I watched the season premier of Supergirl and the series premier of Valor both airing on the CW.

SUPERGIRL: GIRL OF STEEL

It's been six months since the deal with the Daxam Invasion... and Kara is basically pulling a Barry Allen with a pity party of wanting to cut off from everyone around her and just focusing on being Supergirl...and this was really not a good way to start off the new season, even though it was a necessary evil considering everything.  The real issue is that just about everyone is telling her to get over it when they know it was her decision, her choice to use the lead device which forced Mon-El to leave. There were some positives in the episode such as the unveiling of the Supergirl statue, Lena buying CatCo to keep it out of a rival's hands and more of the silly domestic drama of Sawyer and Danvers.

VALOR: PILOT

I was looking forward to this show, as I think there is a lot of stories that can be told over the course of half-season series to build up to a big special ops season finale, but I feel a little let down with the execution here We are introduced to our main characters, and not one of them is really all that likeable or interesting, and it seems like Valor will focus on the double-lives these characters have with keeping secrets of professional and personal natures away from loved ones. Case in point, the character of Nora is clearly in a relationship but before the episode even ends it's teased there will be something hot and heavy with someone who isn't her boyfriend.

Bendy & The Ink Machine Chapter 3 Highlights & Blog

Here are highlights from my October 9, 2017 broadcast of Bendy & The Ink Machine Chapter 3, I failed to finish this game as you'll see with many of the final highlights being my deaths in 'Angel's Wrath'.

Get A Bendy & The Ink Machine Logo T-shirt: http://amzn.to/2y96QKf

Chapter three of Bendy & The Ink Machine is awesome... very awesome... great atmosphere, very straight forward, and very in depth... with perhaps one hell of a pain of the ass battle that I couldn't finish, the battle being Angel's Wrath where the Butcher gang come to take Alice Angel and all we have to deal with them... is a pipe. It takes six hits to take each one down and two bum-rush you... and every so often ink monsters appear as well. I felt I got better with each attempt but frustration was getting the best of me.

TV Thoughts Up To October 7

It's Sunday, October 8, 2017...

We are in the early stages of the 2017-18 Television season, and as you may know I over-worked myself with recaps / reviews via video format on my YouTube channel. But to give my site here more exclusive content, I intend to do more blogs.

GOTHAM SEASON 4: A DARK KNIGHT

So as shown at the end of season 3, Bruce is stepping closer to being Batman, and he is given a Kevlar-type suit by Lucius Foxx and the mask is designed by Alfred. He's finding his footing and it's been interesting so far in seeing Bruce getting knocked around as he tries to become the man he is destined to be... towards heavy conflict with Ra's Al Ghul, who is being played by Alexander Siddig (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine). I'm not exactly thrilled with the character of Ra's being used in Gotham, as the ties between him and Batman have been over-used in various media over the last 25 years... and the handicap of the Lazarus Pit was used to bring back Barbara Keen, whose has reached Fish Mooney status in terms of being a character that is around too long.

On a more positive note, there is forward character development with Ivy heading towards Poison Ivy, Selina towards being Catwoman and the Falcone family being a major force once again in the form of Sofia.

MARVEL'S INHUMANS

How do I summarize my thoughts on the first three episodes of Marvel's latest television venture... it's as if someone at Disney realized that the core of the Inhumans was like Game of Thrones and said 'lets do that'. This isn't helped by the fact that Iwan Rheon is apart of the cast. There are few positives with how Blackbolt is portrayed, and when he's on screen, since the character can't speak without leveling a city block, there's a lot more character emoting involve.

THE ORVILLE

I'm not a big fan of Seth MacFarlane... but I'll admit, The Orville is a great series, that captures the spirit of both the Original Series of Star Trek and Deep Space Nine. It's a hodgepodge crew, there is a feeling out process, the characters seem fully fleshed out after a couple of episode... and surprisingly MacFarlane is a decent 'Captain', this is probably due to fact that he always comes across as being a Star Trek fan. I'm not sure what the problem most critics have the series.

Funny thing... the second episode 'Command Performance' reminds me of Star Trek Animated Series episode 'The Eye of the Beholder', where aliens put 'inferior races' in a zoo. This episode also seemed to make the character of Lt. Kitan (Halstone Sage) a bit of a break out character in terms of someone to having to step into a bigger role than they are ready for, somewhat similar to Geordi La Forge in the Star Trek: Next Generation episode 'The Arsenal of Freedom'.

  • Next Week: The Ark
  • Dorothea 'Dodo' Chaplet debuts in this episode, played by Jackie Lane, has unsophsiticated, bright & happy personalty. The character's tenure isn't long however, and I'll try and play special attention to her in the coming weeks. Note: Her accent which was 'common' at the end of this episode was changed to 'BBC English' or 'Received Pronunciation'  for some stupid reason... probably because RP is a sign of 'social prestige' in the UK... keep in mind, a lot of 'social prestige' lead to a lot of the BBC's stupider decisions over the past few years.
