Paladins: Raeve Maeve Is So Relaxing

It's Friday, September 29, 2017....

As you know I play a lot of Paladins, hell you can normally find me playing it in the morning before work, after I get home and before I go to bed... and I tend to be on the Front Line or play Support, because of a bulldog mentality I have of just get to the objective and do everything I can to capture the point for my team... a mind set that doesn't really lend itself to Damage or Flank types...

But a recent addition to the 'customization' options of the champions in the game for Maeve is changing that for me... you see the 'Raeve' skin, which sees Maeve blasting some rave music from her coat has made the character a little more relaxing to play, since her music overpowers the normal in game music for the player, so it's a game changer.

For those who don't know, the normal music in Paladins is big and bombastic, getting you geared up for a big battle (hence why I normally am on the Front Line or playing Support), but the Raeve Maeve's music, makes it seem like a party and it just chills everything down a bit and with out the big drums of the normal in-game soundtrack blasting in the ears, I've been able to focus a bit more on making sure I hit with everyone of Maeve's attacks and abilities since the Raeve skin has been added.

Question is... will I eventually take her into Competitive mode? That's a big 'what if' at this point. eventually I would like to have Maeve in my stable of go-to characters for that mode along side Fernando, Ash, Ying, Inara, & Seris.. but it'll probably be a long road of getting to there from here before that happens.

Paladins... Finally Got That Hard Carry Achievement, and did it with Ash!

It's Wednesday, September 20, 2017...

And while I rarely ever brag about in-game exploits, because I let the videos speak for themselves, I am rather proud of this. As you may know, I am a big fan of the game Paladins and have logged in over 370 hours since February.

Now one of the hardest achievements to get is 'Hard Carry' which is to kill more than 20 players on the opposing team during a Casual Siege match or in a Competitive Mode match, and I finally pulled it off with an unlikely character... Ash.

Ash is a Front Line character, AKA a tank... she has a moving shield that depending on the legendary card used moves and expires quick or slow, a forward charge that can knock opponents back, as well as an alternative fire mode to blast opponents back a good distance in an open map. Her weapon, a cannon, has 8 shots that does a fair amount of damage.

The thing is... she's not really built to rack up deaths, as she wears down the enemy's tank shields which allow flank and damage types to finish them off because of their weapons being quicker to fire and having more ammo, so I would rack up assists quite frequently.

So you could imagine my surprise when the match (which was a competitive ranked match) ended and I saw the results screen, saying that I had 21 Kills... my jaw dropped. I knew it was a tight match and as usual I was doing my job as a tank to be on the objectives at all times, so I was focused on just trying to control the capture point and the area around the siege engine.

I honestly didn't think I would ever get the 'Hard Carry' achievement, let alone think I would do it in a ranked match where things are much more serious

But regardless... I'm going to bed with a smile on my face!

Orbox C

It's Tuesday September 19, 2017... and on Monday night, I played Orbox C, and here is a quick review of the puzzle game that is available on steam!

To get a free demo of the game visit:

I received this game as a free copy, and played it for the first time during a live stream. Without question this is an instantly addictive casual game, much like say Bejeweled in some aspect. The controls are very basic, use your WASD keys (or direction keys) to move around with the goal of completing the level objectives. In many cases it is a matter of trial and error as you try to figure you through the game. There are a variety of game play elements from destroyable ice blocks, teleport portals, angled changing targets that provide challenges. The music is very soothing and keeps the mood calm and mellow, cutting down on the feelings of rage when one screws up.

Verdict: Highly recommend!

Mass Effect Graphics Glitch Fix on Peak 15

It's Saturday September 16, 2017... and during my twitch stream of Mass Effect last night, I ran into the 'Graphics Glitch' that happens on all PC versions of Mass Effect that turns just about everything into a texture-less black blob. Of course knowing the game has been around for nearly a decade, I figured I would find something to fix this problem. I did so I am sharing those instructions with you here!

First open a Windows explorer window and go the file location:
Documents > BioWare > Mass effect > Config

Second, open the file BIOInput (you should be able to open this with any .txt editor like notepad)

Third scroll down to where it says Engine.Console

Fourth: type this below Engine.Console: ConsoleKey=Tilde

Save and close the file.

Launch Mass Effect... and press ~ to open the in-game console

In the console type: viewmode unlit'
-What this does is turns off the special lighting effects used for shadows and such.

Once past Peak 15 (and I believe Noveria as a whole) you can switch the lighting effects back on by pressing ~ and typing viewmode lit

So with that said, why does this glitch happen? Well from what I read, apparently it was an error done by the game developers combined with the advancement of technology.

Bubblegum Crisis 2040: Fireball

It's Friday September 15, 2017... time to talk anime as I go over Fireball, which is episode 8 of Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040.

To get the series on DVD use my Amazon affiliate link:

  • Bubblegum Crisis 2040
  • Episode 8 - Fireball
  • November 25, 1998
  • Opens with 'interview' of Priss, her performing and riding her bike, questions about what inspires her music. and what she thinks about the world, what singing mes to her 'means she's alive' and that she would join the knight sabers to blow stuff up if she wasn't a singing  'Lots of cuts to Priss's concert'
  • Leon pursues Priss when she starts speeding on her bike, going well over 220 KPH, and only catches up when she stops at a spot overlooking the city. Daley busts Leon's chops over his charm being ineffective on Priss. When he asks why she hates the AD Police, Priss says it's because guys like him don't realize they are basically pawns.
  • Nene invites Priss over for a sleep over because Linaa wants to see her. Nene's apartment is a total stye. Priss tells them if they want to see her come to the club she's at... and Linaa wonders if Priss 'has a boyfriend or is into girls'.
  • Nigel calls Mackey the best assistant he ever had and appears to be mentoring him. Mackey is late for dinner with Sylia and she questions him about what Nigel is working on, getting details on the Motorcyle that it's very powerful and specialized and he figures the bike is for Priss, which really ticks off Sylia. Mackey's catches on this, and is gonna stay with Nigel because Sylia is not how she was before.
  • Highway Boomer (rogue boomer fused with a street racer) is the monster of the episode, super fast so the AD Police have to pursue it. Sylia is driving recklessly to catch up because of it's speed. Because the attack is when Priss is performing only Linaa and Nene respond to the call, which sees both getting railroaded because of the mass. Nigel's bike is called the MotorSlade, and that is where Priss heads to.
  • The bike isn't road test it, but its 3-times as tough as a hardsuit and it interfaces with Priss's hardsuit so she can adjust it on the fly. Pricess proceeds to ram the bike into the Boomer but it doesn't quite work and we see her adjusting the bike's frame, launching it into the air causing the Boomer to pretty much go 'Oh wow' before Pirss punches its core heart out.
  • Episode ends with Priss singing alone in an empty club on an stage, with Priss, Mackey and Linaa applauding, and Leon also watching.

Kickstarter Spotlight: Artificer - The Science Of Magic From Psilocybe Games

Hello Dwellers and Welcome to the Basement...

Project imageA while back I had the pleasure to check out a couple of demos from Psilocybe Games, one being Balthazar's Dream which is currently available on Steam, and recently Peter Lipert made me aware of his next project, something he's been hoping to make for over a decade... 'Artificer: The Science of Magic', which is being designed to be a RPG based around crafting, survival and magic'... and knowing the quality of the work from their previous demos, I'm giving my support to this Kickstarter project.

But let me further explain as to why, because we all know the terror tails with crowd funded games... but Psilocybe Games in their previous campaigns had things ready to go, where whatever funds were being raised was going to the development of the project, the focus is on quality and not 'over promises' to keep things even-leveled across the board, which gives me confidence as backer.

To learn more about Artificer visit the official Kickstarter page here:

It's Monday September 4, 2017 (Labor Day) and this week I'm wrapping up my look at The Daleks Master Plan with part 12 'The Destruction of Time' as well as talking about the character of Sara Kingdom!

Death of Sara Kingdom, character was originally devised by Terry Nation for a propsed American Spin-off Doctor Who that would have seen her and her colleagues fighting The Daleks. Jean Marsh who played Sara, was Princess Joanna in the Crusade and would later appear in the Doctor Who story Battlefield in 1989. Jean Marsh started in 2003 that she would not have continued in the role of Sara even if offer to stay on as a companion. In recent years, Sara has been 'heard' in various Big Finish Doctor Who productions in the Companion Chronicles series

10/15/2019 Phantasmagoria Night 2

Night 2 of Phantasmagoria  went pretty well finishing the game at about 9:30 PM, it wasn't totally smooth as I did suffer two deaths but...
