Fan Art Corner - Ecto-1 On The Scene

Hello Dwellers and Welcome to the Basement...

So I had this idea for an image, of Ecto-1 sitting on a darken street... and so this was the end result of trying to bring that visual to life. This was created using paint.NET

Blue Seed: "I'm Fired Up! I'll Do It! Because I'm the Kushinada!!" (Talking Anime)

Hello Dwellers and Welcome to the Basement...

We're Talking Anime, and of course we're discussing episode seven of Blue Seed titled "I'm Fired Up! I'll Do It! Because I'm the Kushinada!!", which has a slightly different style plot as compared to the first six episodes

  • Original Airdate: 11/16/1994  (English, 11/27/1999)
  • The kidnap / ransom plot is certainly quite a different tale as compared to the monster of the week style episodes we have seen in the first six episodes (5 if you count the first two episodes as 1 story)
  • The Kushinada project and how it relates to Momiji and her encounter with Orochi in the 2nd episode when it placed her in a ceramic field has some extra significance considering it comes into play here
  • Having the Aragami disguise themselves as humans to achieve their goals adds a whole new ball of wax into the field, as gives more story telling options
  • Momiji certainly was hell bent to find the kid, she really took it personally that the Aragami would use a child to try to get to her.
  • Just based on his disguise, it's pretty obvious who was the chief villain in this episode

Doctor Who: The Rescue Part 2 (Tales From The TARDIS)

Hello Dwellers and Welcome to the Basement...

Tonight we are wrapping up our look at the Doctor Who story 'The Rescue' with part two, titled Desperate Measures

  • Vicki becomes the first companion to be actually invited by the Doctor to Travel in the TARDIS on the show, remember Susan was already traveling with him prior to An Unearthly Child, while Ian and Barbara were both 'unwilling' passengers
  • Bennett's scheme to avoid going to prison is very over the time: kill everyone that knows what he did, except for Vicki who doesn't know, terrify her so that when help comes she can support his version of events
  • The Doctor going off on his own to deal with Bennett is pretty interesting in how he was willing to get physical with him.
  • I wonder if it was scripted for Barbara to nail Ian in the ribs for laughing at Vicki's comment that they are over 500 years old, cause William Russell's reaction was too good to be staged.
  • Strange note: The TARDIS doors are shown to be on the right hand side instead of the left, kind of a different angle which shows that the TARDIS console room is circular.

Live From The Basement: Star Trek Online (Stardate 112516.1)

Hello Dwellers and Welcome to The Basement...
Another Live Stream on twitch is in the books, as it was back to the Star Trek Online and seeing the story from the Klingon perspective (or at least that of an Orion-Talaxian hybrid) as I take a LONG (and I do me long) look at Sphere of Influence, plus we do a few things like head off the Solanae Dyson sphere to get a briefing and also New Romulus to do some tasks on the planet.

  • Since I was reading every single bit of dialog in Sphere of Influence that didn't have VO work, I noticed something that I don't think anyone brings up, that during the course of the mission, you find a log about New Romulus saying the Iconians have been messing with A'dranna and actually sabotaged the activation of the gate that was found... making me wonder if they didn't, would the gate have worked on its own with the geothermal power source?
  • I do find if funny that even the Iconians are scared of taking the Dominion head on
  • Madaran surprisingly has become a minor-reoccurring antagonist in Star Trek Online, cause he pops up quite often. Is he our Tomalok?

11/14/2019 Star Trek Online

Had a great stream of Star Trek Online tonight as I tacked the entire Dyson Sphere story arc (which meant spending time in the battle zones)...
