Garfield's Halloween Adventure - From The Vault

Hello Dwellers and Welcome To The Basement...

Back in 1989 I first saw Garfield's Halloween Adventure, and so to wrap up the search for Halloween'ish movies here in October, I figured why not talk about and review it?

Yeah, managed to find it on YouTube for you all to watch and enjoy!

  • Why do I remember seeing this in 1989, well because I saw it the same night I saw the Real Ghostbusters Halloween Special on ABC!
  • The special when you think about is a bit of a hodgepodge of ideas, Garfield goes trick or treating... and ends up on an island as dead pirates are coming to get their treasure?
  • The scene of Garfield nearly drowning stands out as one of the darkest moments in the history of all the Garfield animated specials
  • The animation stills hold up, but it's clear this was made prior to when computers were more prominent with animation

The Daleks (The Dalek Invasion of Earth, Part 2)

Hello Dwellers and Welcome To The Basement....This week I'm going over part two of The Dalek Invasion of Earth, which is called simply 'The Daleks'.

  • The premier date for The Dalek Invasion Of Earth Part Two was November 28, 1964
  • My theory for why The Daleks would want the 'smartest' people to become robomen is simply this: the smarter a person is, the less likely for them to go insanse
  • The Dalek's style of invasion as detailed in this story is quite ingenious in my view: weaken and divide the local population with illness, and then swoop in to conquer.

Figured it was time to change the logo a bit, granted it debuts on the title card, but not during this week's actual episode, where it's the old version.
