Special Task Force Mission: Bug Hunt (Advance, 9/27/2016)

Hello Dwellers and Welcome to The Basement!

Had some free time, and thus did a Special Task Force Mission for tonight's Lets Play video, this time it's Bug Hunt... and I probably should've used Zagreus instead of Raz. Still it was a fun run, even if my character got knocked around quite a bit.

This particular run was on the advance settings, which is fairly difficult, with more objectives and tough enemies... and for all intents and purposes my character was not totally prepared. Still thicks started off on a good solid front, but then things got tough when jumping down a fissure, and the team  got swarmed badly, normally it's a simple portion, but it was just brutal to get through.

The Fascinating and Forgotten History of the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship

Hello Dwellers and Welcome To The Basement... From 1981 to 2001, the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship had a wild history, from a title created out of a working relationship between two promotions to being part of the J-Crown and technically defended at WCW's Starrcade 96 to being abandoned like yesterday's garbage by the WWE,  I go over as much as I was able to learn about the forgotten title...

Additional Commentary From The Basement

While I touched on this briefly, a big reason why guys left EMLL to form the UWA was because of nepotism, which is still a problem in the world of pro wrestling today, with people getting opportunities because of who they are related too instead of based on their actual ability, we see this a lot with the Anoa'i clan. Too bad the days of guys getting fed up with it and saying, you know what, I'm gonna go form my own promotions are long dead. Sure Jeff Jarrett went and formed TNA, but how many other wrestlers will go out and do that these days because of how things in the WWE are done?

Moving on, It blows my mind that Chris Adams held the WWF Light Heavyweight Title and never worked for the WWE at all, one would've thought he would've made it there, even for a brief time based on his ability. But his personal demons and issues probably cost him the oportunity... but he Benoit made it to New York and that worked out well... well for a few years at least before his demons reared their ugly head. All kidding aside I think with the physical issues of the Dynamite Kid, and Davey Boy Smith not really being all that great a singles wrestler, Chris Adams would've made a great tag team partner for him.

It really does bother me that while the WWE acknowledges the whole history of some titles... they don't for the Light Heavyweight Title, I know they don't acknowledge all the title changes for the first Women's Championship either that originated with Mildred Burke in the 1930s, but Moolah being the (rhymes with runt) that she was probably had some 'terms and conditions' as it related to selling the title to the McMahons in the 1980s. Regardless, the Light Heavyweight Title's history would prior to 1997 would allow the WWE to acknowledge quite a number of Lucha Libre stars for probably the first time ever.

I would love to know where the Light Heavyweight Championship itself is... it's probably in the WWE's warehouse collecting dust, and I was serious about seeing X-Pac come out with it to challenge TJ Perkins to a unification match, to give the title some proper closure. Hell if the freakin' Hardcore Championship could be unified with the Intercontinental Championship, why not finally do the same for the Light Heavyweight Title. You get X-Pac on a pay-per-view one more time to put over Perkins.
