Hello Dwellers And Welcome To The Basement...
Star Trek Online's newest expansion pack, Agents of Yesterday has launched, and I took it for a quick spin, Right off the bat, it is starting a whole new character campaign, so once I catch up with Sobar on the current missions, I will then be starting a new run with the Agents of Yesterday crew, which starts in the 23rd Century (True-Kirk's era).
The big impression is how much effort went into making new starting point missions feel like classic Star Trek episodes, with the first two referencing and following up, the Galileo 7 and Arena... not to mention the use of sound-clips from the original series (giving some voices to Sulu, Uhura and McCoy), plus a re-working of Lenoard Nimoy's previous STO voice over contribution to have Spock gets some lines in.
Like how the Romulan, Klingon and normal Federation campaigns start, you get your primary bridge crew over your first few missions, and the missions themselves are not to overwhelming, which will allow first time players to step in seamlessly.
So all in all... I like it, and I look forward to being able to devote some serious time to the Agents of Yesterday campaign in a couple of weeks!
Now for some screen shots.
